Year 5 - Branch 5 - To the ends of the Earth

Year 5 children will explore the Sacrament of Confirmation, discovering how it strengthens believers with the Holy Spirit’s gifts to live as courageous witnesses of Christ. They’ll study Pentecost and Scripture passages about the Spirit’s work (Isaiah 11:2, 1 Corinthians 12), learning how the Spirit empowers discipleship—as seen in Mary and the saints. Through the symbols of Confirmation (chrism, anointing, the Bishop’s role), they’ll understand how this sacrament deepens baptismal grace. Children will reflect on the Come Holy Spirit prayer, discuss the Rosary’s glorious mysteries, and consider how they can use their own gifts to serve others, just as the Spirit guides the Church to spread the Gospel in the world.
