Year 6 - Branch 5 - To the ends of the Earth

Year 6 children will explore the profound mystery of Christ’s Resurrection through key Scripture passages (John 20, 1 Corinthians 15), discovering how the disciples’ encounters with the risen Jesus transformed them into courageous witnesses. They’ll examine how the Holy Trinity worked through the Resurrection and why Jesus is called the ‘new Adam’, bringing new life to all. Through studying saints like St Oscar Romero and St Teresa of Calcutta, they’ll learn how Christians—strengthened by baptism and confirmation—live out their faith, even through martyrdom or service. Children will reflect on how charities like CAFOD embody Gospel values, discuss what it means to stand up for one’s beliefs, and consider how they too can be witnesses of hope in their own lives.
